On October 3–5, as part of the program for the development of the WCRC for Personalized Medicine, the Institute of Experimental Medicine hosted an annual conference on topical issues of human and animal microbiota, the mechanisms of microbiota-host interaction and antibacterial drug resistance.

Program

 The opening ceremony was attended by:

  • K. E. Borisov, Acting Director of the Department of State Scientific and Technical Policy of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education,

  • Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director General of Almazov National Medical Research Centre, Director of WCRC for Personalized Medicine,

  • G. A. Sofronov, Chief Scientific Officer of the Institute of Experimental Medicine,

  •  A. V. Dmitriev, Director of the Institute of Experimental Medicine.

The speakers were leading experts from Russia, Japan, Malaysia, Iran, Brazil, Bulgaria, India, Germany, China, Belarus, Uzbekistan.

The participants of the conference learned about modern research in the field of human and animal microbiota as well as the latest diagnostic methods and unique ways to correct the microbiota. The conference covered not only the fundamental aspects of research but also patient management algorithms and technologies for introducing the results of fundamental research into clinical practice.

The event brought together more than 750 attendees.
