WCRC specialists participate in SOHO 2023
From 6 to 9 September, the specialists of the WCRC for Personalized Medicine took part in the 11th Annual Meeting of the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO 2023). The meeting took place at the George R. Brown Convention Centre in Houston, Texas and on the SOHO virtual platform. The Society of Hematologic Oncology was organized by experts from the MD Anderson Cancer Centre Moshe Talpaz Hagop Kantarjian.
This year's meeting brought together nearly 2,500 delegates (over 1,900 onsite) from around the world. Over the course of three days, 150 expert speakers delivered 190 presentations. The educational sessions were interspersed with scientific sessions reporting on research from leading scientific laboratories in different countries from the USA to China. More than 600 abstracts were submitted, of which 568 were accepted for oral or poster presentation. The presentations focused on acute and chronic leukemia, multiple myeloma and other lymphoproliferative disorders. The scientific results of the WCRC were presented in four poster presentations by Elza Lomaia, Head of the Immuno-Oncology Research Department of the WCRC for Personalized Medicine, Olga Kulemina, Researcher of the Laboratory (together with Nadezhda Shnalieva, hematologist of Almazov Centre).
Prospects for the development of oncohematology were the topic of the expert meeting, which brought together leading experts from more than 20 countries, including Elza Lomaia.
The event enabled the participants to gain new insights into the diagnosis and treatment of myeloid and lymphoid neoplasms, to learn about innovative technologies in the production of promising therapeutic agents, and to present their own scientific developments that will be applied in the treatment of patients.
