3rd meeting of the International Advisory Board

3rd online meeting of the International Advisory Board of WCRC for Personalized Medicine.

On November 8, the International Advisory Board of the World-Class Research Centre for Personalized Medicine held its third online meeting.

Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director General of Almazov Centre, opened the meeting with a welcome speech and a brief overview of achievements made by WCRC in 2022. He emphasized the importance of expert assessment of the WCRC results for further implementation of projects.

The meeting featured two presentations from each of the partner institutions of WCRC for Personalized Medicine. Alexandra Konradi, Deputy Director General for Research presented the results of the work of Almazov Centre on 27 projects. Alexander Dmitriev, Director of the Institute of Experimental Medicine presented the results of the work of the Institute on 6 key projects.

In their presentations, Russian scientists spoke about the main achievements within each research area, demonstrated the key target indicators and provided an overview of the prepared publications.

Further to the presentations, the participants of the meeting elected a new chairman of the WCRC. They unanimously voted for Vladimir Chekhonin, Head of the Medical Nanobiotechnology Department of the Faculty of Medicine and Biology, Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University. He will continue to develop a dialogue between leading Russian and foreign experts in order to achieve the high goals of this project.

In closing, the members engaged into a discussion, asked questions and shared their opinions about the high level of research expertise at WCRC for Personalized Medicine.

More than 60 experts, including those representing the opinion of the international community, took part in the discussion. The experts recognized that all the targets for 2022 were achieved and expressed their hope for further successful cooperation in the field of the latest trends in personalized medicine and the development of the future science through common efforts.

The International Advisory Board includes 25 world leading experts in all areas of personalized medicine. It was established as an expert advisory body to facilitate and comprehensively analyze the development of WCRC, assess the relevance of ongoing research and its compliance with the modern world trends.
