Almazov Centre and the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on collaboration as part of the World-Class Research Centre for Personalized Medicine (approved by Order of the Russian Government No. 2744-р dated 24 October 2020).

The parties intend to conduct joint research and events, develop academic mobility and exchange experience in the field of population genetics. The joint research will be mainly aimed at predicting the manifestation of metabolic disorders by analyzing genomic data from deeply profiled patient cohorts. They also plan to establish a programme for data unification with the biobank of Finland.

Two projects of the WCRC for Personalized Medicine will be implemented together with FIMM: “Obtaining standardized data on genotyping of a national population cohort for biomedical use” and “Carrying out an in-depth analysis of genotype-phenotype correlations and identifying new potential areas for the prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases of polygenic origin.”
