WCRC develops COVID-19 mortality prediction calculator

Specialists of the Research Laboratory of Novel Coronavirus Infection and Post-COVID Syndrome of the WCRC for Personalized Medicine have compiled a single database of COVID-19 patients containing the results of clinical, laboratory and instrumental studies of more than 4,000 people.

A calculator for mortality prediction was developed based on the data obtained during the first 72 hours of stay in the infectious hospital unit.

The calculator is intended for doctors as an additional information source about a patient at a high risk of death. The program can be used as an auxiliary tool to support medical decision-making.

Using the calculator in clinical practice of infectious hospitals will allow not only predicting the outcome of the disease based on 11 simple parameters obtained in the first days of hospitalization, but also allocating the available bed capacity and drug stock.

The developed calculator received a patent certificate.
